Amy's art comes in many mediums. Her favorite being acrylic paints. Her paintings can vary from realsitic to abstract, always full of color. She takes her inspiration from nature and paints as a form of mediation and escape from reality to let her mind wander free and unhindered.
Hi! My name is Amy. I've been an artist most of my life. Since I was a young child, I have loved anything and everything that is Art. I am completly and utterly enthralled with Art; as a thought then a concept to fruitation of a piece. The artisitc process is compelling and fascinating.
I began my artistic journey as most children doing, playing in the mud. I must have been doing pretty well sculpting creations out of mud becuase my family began buying me clay to sculpt with. Once I was in school and learned how to use a pencil correctly, I began drawing. I drew for hours, it very quickly became my favorite activity. I moved onto colored pencils and pens and eventually found paints.
Acrylic paints are my favorite medium. Easy, versatile and fun to use. It has become a form of self expression and escapism from the mundane day to day.
Elephants are amazing creatures. Strong but careful and sensitive. Among the most intelligent beings on this Earth. I love them.
Owls, another creature that is fascinating. Small but swift and deadly. It's almost like they see all and miss nothing with thier gigantic eyes.
An incredible animal that has evolved from prehistoric periods. Absolutely beautiful in it's symmetry.
An abstract take on the mighty Phoenix.
After I painted an abstract version, I felt compelled to create a more realistic vision of a Phoenix.
One half of a soul, here depicted as a male counter-part. A vibrant mix of realism and the abstract as most dualities co-exist in nature. Such as creation and destruction, beauty and decay.
One half of a soul, here depicted as a female counter-part. A vibrant mix of realism and the abstract co-existing. One half awaiting or searching for it's counter-part.
As It's title states, this piece was created during my teenage years. All thoughts, negative and positive, emotions and insecurities poured onto canvas. Like most teenage years riddled with extremes of emotion, here that is depicted as naturalism vs the abstract but harmonious.
